The European Festival of Nude Photography « Glimpses of the Body » 2012, twelfth edition.

Since twelve months of crisis have made the deep problems of the world of photography worse, it is one further reason for us to turn towards the works of authors and to support their commitment through the access to the art rails of the privileged places in the city of Arles and in the city of Les Baux de Provence.

In our society where picture is everywhere, total, artistic photography is threatened, let's help it to invest the walls, to be published and to generously share emotions.

The Festival opens towards a variety of perspectives :

- focus on the body language with the work of the photographer Richard Aujard on the world of boxing, a powerful and sensitive universe, exposed at the Archbishop's Palace (Palais de l'Archevêché),

- contemporary creations with three exhibitions at Sainte Anne's Chapel (Chapelle Sainte Anne),

- hightlighting of a photographic kind –self-portrait- widely practised without any concession, outside the targeted Channels of aesthetics and easiness, by the photographers' models,

- some history with Lucien Lorelle, a photographer who was too quickly and unfairly forgotten. The Festival is happy to put a broad spotlight onto that free and humorous work, a great tribute, exhibited in the Baux de Provence.

About thirty exhibitions on the whole are welcoming you, they are situated in both cities, iconic places of the city of Arles, the partner of the future event Marseille Provence 2013 – The European capital of culture (Provence 2013 - Capitale Européenne de la Culture), in the Baux de Provence with, this year, a first show in the Carrières de Lumière, a magical place, dedicated to image, a truly fabulous setting that will host the 2012 edition photographers for a projection evening.

Nothing would be possible, without the support of our former or new-coming partners ; we are grateful to them all for the unmissable events that workshops, animations or photography happenings have become in parallel with the exhibitions.

Beyond the closed area of nude photography, we do wish that the plurality of these glimpses and the discovery of their universe will give true moments of exchange, of sharing and of freedom to the festival goers.
